“The Dalton Gallery presents the exhibition “Groundstory: tales from the shade of the South,” opening Thursday, Sept. 27, 6-8 p.m. We invite the campus community to participate in a corresponding exhibit in the Dana Display Cabinets called “Tales from the Shade of Agnes.” Please consider sharing an image of a place that holds your significant stories. Along with your offering, on a separate document, include a piece of writing, 50 words or less. Your image must be smaller than an 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper. Drop it off in the box at the Dana Desk by end of day, Thursday, Sept. 20. If you have questions, please contact Ravea Rodriguez (email@example.com) or Leah Owenby (firstname.lastname@example.org).”
“The Hangout, in association with the Coastal Arts Center of Orange Beach, announces the Second Annual Hangout Public Art Competition. This competition is for a large scale three dimensional sculpture that is site specific and weather friendly. Judges will be looking for overall artistic quality, conceptualization and innovative use of materials. A $3000 stipend will be awarded for the chosen design and the work will become property of The Hangout upon installation. Because the work will be installed prior to The Hangout Music Festival, the sculpture will be viewed by a large and diverse audience within just a few weeks of installation.”
